Storytellers Workshops are classes that
are held on Saturdays in Brea, California.
Brea is in northern Orange County, about
20 miles south of Los Angeles.
Here
is the schedule for the remaining classes
for 2004:
Saturday
June 5th: Drawing the comic book head.
10:00am to 12:00 noon. $20.00

June 12th: Drawing the comic book body.
10:00am to 12:00 noon. $20.00
Saturday
June 19th: Drawing clothing and costumes
for comics. 10:00am to 12:00 noon. $20.00
Saturday
June 26th: Drawing action poses. 10:00am
to 12:00 noon. $20.00
Saturday
July 10th: Drawing backgrounds for comic
books. 10:00am to 12:00 noon. $20.00
Saturday
July 17th: Composing the comic book
page, eye movement, spot blacks. 10:00am
to 12:00 noon. $20.00
Saturday
July 31st: Storytelling thumbnails.
Visually writing the Graphic Novel.
10:00am to 12:00 noon. $20.00

$100.00 at the start of the first class.

size is limited to 12 students. If demand
is greater a second class will be set
up on Saturdays in the afternoon.

We
are finishing up the first session of
three hour classes on Saturdays focusing
on creating the Graphic Novel for print.
These last two classes are meeting on:

May 15th: Printer with 30+ years experience
will be here to answer your questions
and explain the printing process and
where self publishers usually go wrong.
Also an extensive list of local printers
that can print your book. 10:30am to
2:00pm with a half hour lunch break.

Saturday
May 22nd: Guest teacher will be here
to explain Quark Express and why you
need it if you are having your books
printed by web press or sheet fed press.
He will also be teaching how to create
headlines and sound fx in Photoshop.
10:30am to 2:00pm with a half hour lunch
break. $50.00

About Kirk Sivertsen, teacher:
Currently teaching Fundamentals of
Cartooning at Fullerton College. 20
years experience in the commercial art
field and still taking freelance assignments.
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the
University of California, Stanislaus.
